SkiBeatz is killing it on his LiveII he received last week. MPC head/ Marlow Diggs built a whole Youtube channel with his MPC Touch for instance. There are plenty of happy users who probably have another workflow then you and won't face the same problems as you have. Follow the Mari Kondo philosophy: does it spark joy? Or does it annoy? And if it's on Akai, then don't get your hopes up that Akai will come to the rescue. Also, I couldn't with a clear conscience sell a Touch to anyone. As for selling it, I have too much time invested in this music, and last time I checked, their MIDI export didn't work properly. So, you can criticize me all you want, but Akai needs to get its act together. Tempo tracks are very common, as well as a bunch of other basic things I won't go into. The things I expect the Akai hardware and software to do aren't esoteric. So, as you can see, I HAVE done a lot about it.
BIDULE POUR PILE GENERATOR
In Bidule, I built a variable tempo generator controlled by a MIDI cc on an MPC track with the MPC slaved to the Tempo generator.
I got around the MIDI channel problem by using Apple IACs in Bidule plugins within MPC channels 17 to 32. However, I soon discovered that the MPC software lacked some things I needed: More than 16 MIDI channels out (a plugin limitation), and a variable tempo control track. The Touch was the cheapest way to get the software at the time (they didn't sell it separately) and I liked having a control surface, though I don't use the pads. I purchased the MPC Touch and software at the beginning of 2018 because (at the time) it was the only DAW I could find that I could run as a plugin within Bidule.
